Training Camp BLOG!!!!!

Hello everyone!!! It’s been a little while and I am currently in Colombia, but I wanted to share about all of the amazing things the Lord has been doing and all the different ways he’s been working and has worked throughout training camp which has sadly come to an end :(. Here is the big update!!!

Week 2 of training camp-

Week 2 of training camp was a lot more chill than the first week and we still had a few seminars throughout this time, mostly about other cultures and how we can be more aware just in general especially when sharing the gospel and going about our daily lives overseas. Everywhere we go we represent Christ and it’s important that we are aware that what we might say or do back in America might be offensive in some countries, so we had a few sessions on this and how we can better prepare to live overseas. There was also a planned day for evangelism where we went out to The Square in Gainesville Georgia and to be honest I was really nervous and had a lot of fear about doing it. The night before we left we had a revival night and there was an opportunity for people to get baptized or re-baptized, I was thinking about it because I knew the Lord wanted me to get re-baptized because I was afraid of what people might think since I was getting baptized for a 3rd time in my life. But throughout our revival night, after prayer and asking the Lord to take away all my fear in sharing the good news and to take away all of this shame I had about getting re-baptized, he did just that! Someone shared Philippians 4:6 with me and it says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬

That worship night was the first time I worshipped the Lord without fear of what other people might think and I might’ve looked foolish doing it, but I could just feel the Lord smiling as a father would. I can say for that revival night I got to experience true intimacy with the Lord, and then he asked me if I was WILLING to get baptized and declare my love for Him, and I said yes of course so I GOT REBAPTIZED YAYYYY!

The next day we went out to evangelize and we ran into a lot of people who already knew the Lord but maybe they were going through some rough patches in their faith so we got to pray over them and God really worked a lot through that time and taught me a lot about being patient and waiting on Him.

Week 3 of training camp!!

Wewhhh week 3! week 3 we had a seminar on if we can trust the Bible or not… and we can!!! There are over 5,700 Greek manuscripts just of the New Testament! And that’s all physical evidence! So cool how Gods word remains consistent and accurate even over 1,500 years later. We then had a few more sessions on spiritual warfare. After these sessions I realized how unaware I really was that there is a spiritual realm and I think that’s because I was afraid of it. During this week God reminded me that he has already won all of my battles and that I have nothing to fear, but that I should also be aware of the spiritual realm instead of pretending it isn’t there and how I can walk in victory everyday with the Lord.

Domestic Ministry!!!!

For domestic ministry we rode in vans all the way to Black Mountain North Carolina!!! We split into our teams and were assigned different houses to help rebuild from the floods that hit North Carolina a year ago. It was very devastating to hear some of the homeowners stories but God is rebuilding the areas that have been hit and people are coming to know Christ through this tragedy. My team was helping rebuild an older man’s home, we got to level the floors with concrete and demolish parts of a kitchen. I’ve never felt more powerful than when I was ripping off a cabinet from the wall. We also put insulation under houses and in the walls of our last home that we worked on and the Lord really taught me how to serve him physically and with a joyful heart in this week of ministry.

After a full week of manual labor and gratefulness for all the different ways the Lord has blessed me and my squad, we headed back to Gainesville Georgia.

Debrieffff!!!!

We had a few days of debrief before leaving to Colombia and it was very restful, other than the false alarm of a potential hurricane hitting, lots of good rest. We got to spend time with our teams and just talk about what the Lord was doing and all the different ways the Lord has been shaping and refining our hearts throughout training camp. I will soon send a blog about Colombia since I am currently in Medellín right now but I hope that this whole blog gives at least some perspective of what it’s like on the Race and if anyone is wondering is Abby still alive, now you know what I’ve been up to and all the miraculous things the Lord has been doing. He’s so good and deserves all the glory for everything that has happened! Love all of you guys and can’t wait to tell you about what’s been happening in Colombia!
